Simple Rustic Earthern

I have an acute admiration for all earthy wares. Here’s just a few of them I recently picked from a lovely sale. I found these Ceramic bowls with Batik work and Rattan Woven, which I had to add to my collection of kitchen ware and of course share it with all of you.
Also to add A set of well carved plates that can be used just for anything.

The Spiral Wooden Containers are a Highlight as they are solid and well finished.
They can be used as a storage container from lentils to just Tea or Coffee Dust and ofcourse a simple décor piece. Along the side is a simple picture of Garlic from my IKEA collection.

The Incense Placemats have a special herb that is woven along with the placemat and
It instantly refreshes the air around which its placed. The aroma from the herb is very Refreshing I must say…

Spices I used for Biryani today make a gracious appearance in my new ceremic plate and
incense placemat

Frangapani Flavors

Just picked up all the beautiful Frangapani flowers that drop from the trees each day near my place and they make an amazing float in the water in my Traditional "Urali" - the brass bowl. The fragrance from it....Wow its Heaven. A couple of them in a bowl of water in any corner of your home is just the ideal feature.

This is an interesting one, I just picked one of my incense holders, this one is a Sandstone piece, i just placed a few of these lovely flowers and this can be kept anywhere...just find a place at home.

Candles with flowers this is my all time favorite combination, A lovely Sandstone Standing Apsara Candle Stand with Frangapani's.

How I deduced the Name : Mudra – A Sanskrit word meaning – Gesture
I am true bharatnatyam fan and love the "Mudras" - gestures or picture tools of identification of deeper meaning made by the dancers.
This word has inspired me to such an extent that I choose this to Be the Title of my blog….

I thus used Mudram a Mediam or Gesture to explore and exhibit all that is so beautiful
to eyes and mind....
This Dancing Apsaras are made of Sandstone and I got it shipped from Thailand.
They look absolutely stunning in just the candle lights above.
Thailand is an amazing place to shop from clothes to handbags and from food to
artifacts.

"Vismaya" - Our Home

Its true that Home is where your heart lives,
Our home is simple and Straight-forward.
We've named it "Vismaya" - which means "Suprise"
in Sanskrit. Neutral hues, gracious blend of lighting and
Straight cut Carpentry sum up a picture of spacious serenity.
We blended it with Indian and Oriental styles of art to give it
that niche finish.
